Final Images from Verity Ballard are in! by Matt Loosemore

We're so happy with how this branch turned out for Verity Credit Union in Ballard.  Our latest collaboration with Momentum, Inc, this tenant improvement presented some unique challenges and some innovative design solutions, including a Haworth concrete raised access flooring system to limit penetrations through a PT concrete slab, as well as unique LED light fixture which catches the eye of many a passer-by on the street!

The design features contrasting wood tones presented in the form of reclaimed pallet wood cladding a rectangular volume sitting in the larger space.  Brewing tanks and processes will border the tasting space, inviting patrons to see the process behind the product.  Expansive bow-trussed ceilings and large roll-up doors to the outside make the space voluminous while conveying an industrial aesthetic consistent with the site's context.

SUM works with Wayfinding Academy to make a home in St. Johns! by Matt Loosemore

For those of you who read the Daily Journal of commerce, you may have seen an article on the front page of the January 13 issue describing a "different kind of college" that is soon to start in St. Johns.  The Wayfinding Academy, which focuses on providing an alternate option for young people after high school, begins by exploring the questions "Who am I?  What do I want to do with my life, and how can I start taking steps to reach that goal?".

The existing building, which is soon to undergo Land Use Review, will feature accessibility upgrades throughout, including the primary entrance, pictured, which will receive new landscaping, stairs, and a revised ADA ramp.
